A CONCISE CHILDREN’S ENCYCLOPEDIA OF ISLAM

£20.00

Compiled by Al-Arabee Ben Razzouq

Publisher: Darussalam

Encyclopedia of Islam for Children

£19.99

This reference tool, which is a humble attempt to place before the English-speaking Muslim children a number of basic Islamic teachings and concepts, is primarily aimed at children of age ten years and over and presents topics in an easy-to-use alphabetical format. It also covers a wide range of topics and features cross-references which draw attention to related subjects.
Given the fact that some of these Islamic teachings and concepts have been forgotten by many Muslims, and given the fact that some of them have been given wrong definitions or interpretations by some non-Muslims, either deliberately or out of ignorance, an effort has been made here to present these teachings and concepts in their true light and clear picture.
The definitions cover a wide range of concepts as well as some of the well-known Prophets and Messengers of Allah, may Allah’s peace be upon them all, the significance of certain important Islamic occasions, the benefits of the observance of certain practices and a short biography of the four rightly-guided caliphs who helped shape the destiny of the new faith.
Even though the present reference guide is designed specifically for Muslim children, readers and students of all ages and different faiths who wish to learn more about the world’s fastest-growing religion will certainly find it enlightening and highly informative.

Child education in Islam

£13.95

This book outlines the basic Islamic concepts in child education. The author has tried to coordinate the main ideas, as well as the basics precepts for raising Muslim children in all the different spheres of life. First of all, the importance of correct belief and faith cannot be inculcated in young children except through the teaching and example of their parents; and obviously, the role of the mature and religious mother is foremost.

This state of harmony can only be achieved when matrimonial relations are relatively stable. Care is to be taken in providing young children with all the necessary elements in the fields of ethical, physical and psychological education. This cannot be overemphasized. It is established that the common ailments of human societies, personal as well as social, find their remedy in monotheism and justice. Therefore, emphasis on these two moral principles is essential. Muslim children must develop a clear understanding of the concept of the oneness of Allah, mainly through the performance of devotional acts of worship, to Him, and through developing a sense of justice in all personnel and social dealings.

The author has briefly outlined these glorious concepts in this book. Through his deep understanding of Islam, and his eminent conviction and personal adherence to its glorious principles, he introduces this book to the readers, with all practical instructions, with the intention of helping to build up a Muslim nation, worthily to uphold the honourable tenets of the Glorious Qur’an and Sunnah.

Words Builder

£12.25

This full-color ‘Words Builder’ workbook is great for children learning to read and write the English language. This new course in English is about having fun while learning a language. It makes the language easier and faster than you have ever thought possible. Elementary school is a pivotal phase wherein students see and understand the world around them. Observing, reading, understanding, writing and speaking skills are nourished and developed in this stage, which lays a concrete foundation and drives home the message that learning is for life. There is a famous expression which says ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’. For most people, it is easier to remember pictures that are seen rather than sounds that are heard. Anything that can be visualized as an object is much easier to remember. The visual treat in the series by way of colourful illustrations ensures the process of learning is easy and entertaining. Our special thanks to staff artist’s Shehzad Ahmad & Imran Ashraf. His talent provides the essential quality of visual treats that makes the text memorable.

The story of khadija by Saniyasnain Khan H/B

£9.10

One day, the Prophet Muhammad was describing Khadija’s virtue, and he pointed to the heaven and earth with his finger and stated, “Mary, mother of Jesus, is the best of the women of the heavens, and the worthiest woman still living on this earth is Khadija, daughter of Khuwaylid.”
Khadija’s life is a source of great inspiration to believers, especially women. She is an excellent example of how one can give to the cause of Islam one’s time, energy, wealth
and life.
Her story is a reminder to believers to live purposeful lives and, in our prayers, we should remember Khadija and the whole family of the Prophet for their sacrifice and dedication. It was precisely their sacrifice, dedication and hard work that made it possible for Islam to reach all the four corners of the world and allowed the Quran to be preserved in its original form.
May Allah be pleased with them all.
Once when the Prophet Muhammad was in the Cave of Hira with the angel Jibril, or Gabriel, Jibril saw from afar that Khadija was coming towards the Cave. He said to the Prophet: “Khadija is coming here. She has brought some food and water for you.”
And then he added: “When she comes in, give her the greetings from her Lord and tell her that there will be a house made of pearls for her in Paradise where there will be neither hardship nor any clamour.”
When Khadija arrived, the Prophet said to her: “Here is Jibril. He is giving greetings to you from your Lord and he himself is greeting you.”
Khadija replied: “God is peace and He is the source of all peace! May Allah’s peace and blessings be upon you, O Messenger of Allah. And my greeting to Jibril!”

There he left his wife, Hagar, and his little baby, Ismail. The story goes on to tell how Hagar struggled to find water for her baby and how at last the miraculous Zamzam spring came gushing out and saved their lives. This is followed by the great sacrifice of Ibrahim, the building of the Kabah and the call to Hajj. This book explains the importance of the annual pilgrimage—one of the pillars of Islam—with a special focus on the Prophet Muhammad’s Hajj. These exciting historical events are presented in a simple, informative style, with beautiful illustrations, so that young people may understand and enjoy them.

Tell Me About the Prophet Musa

£5.50

This book presents the life and times of the Prophet Musa, upon whom be peace, from the days of his infancy, when he was put in a box in the river Nile, to the period of his divine mission and preaching of Allah’s words. It describes how Allah saved him miraculously from the death sentence of the tyrant Firawn, his upbringing in the palace, and his journey to Madyan and back when, on Mount Sinai, Allah spoke to him directly. It goes on to describe the parting of the sea and the utter defeat of Firawn and his mighty army as Prophet Musa leads his followers out of Egypt. Finally, the Children of Israel reach the Promised Land. The life of Musa is full of happenings, adventures and excitement, and has lessons and guidelines for all times. The focus throughout the book is on the spirit of the Prophet Musa’s story, and on the lessons that it has for our daily lives. These exciting historical events are presented in a simple, informative style, with beautiful illustrations, so that young people may easily understand and enjoy them.

My Daughters

£5.00

Beautifully Presented Book with Colour and friendly scrip.
Does is stand to reason to phrase eloquent introductions on women’s rights and their status in Islam, while we fall too short to put that into practice in our daily life- at home, at school, in the market, or in the mosque?
Women were created to serve as a complement to man in a natural society, where men and women act as two components thereof.
The author was blessed with several sons, but he chose to speak about his daughters- Ghada, Assia, Nora and Ladan in this book in a different and outstanding way.
The English translation of the book Banati written by Dr. Salman Al-Oadah covers some excellent topics such as:
Prelude.

Tell Me About the Creation

£4.99

The intention of this book is to enable us to see the Miracle of Creation in things we often encounter in the world around us, but to which we give no special thought. Throughout our entire lives, most of us think about our own materialistic needs and lead a life far removed from God, thus failing to see the evidence of God’s existence. For interested readers, this book will open up new horizons on the wonder of God’s Creation. Perusal and understanding this book will be important steps in arriving at an understanding of the Creator.

Though innumerable theories have been put forward concerning the evolution of life on earth, the fact that none of them have stood up to scientific scrutiny is discussed in detail in this book. The aim of the author is to encourage readers to think about basic, faith related issues, such as the existence of God and His Greatness, and to expose the distortions of many currently held theories and beliefs.

The Miracle in the Ant

£4.49
In this book we are going to tell you about a creature that you know quite well, that you meet everywhere without actually giving it much attention, that is highly skillful, highly social and highly intelligent – “The Ant”. Our aim is to review the lives full of miracles of these minute creatures that are never of any significance in our daily lives.

Technology, collective work, military strategy, advanced communications network, an astute and rational hierarchy, discipline, perfect city planning… These are fields where human beings may not always be successful enough, but where the ants always are. When you look at these creatures, which are fully armed to defeat tough rivals and to endure the difficult conditions of nature, you may think that all of them are identical. However, each species of the ant genus – and there are thousands of them – has, in fact, different characteristics. We believe that these creatures that have the highest population in the world may open up new horizons for us within the framework of the characteristics referred to above. This book will reveal to us the special and marvelous world of ants. We shall witness the things these ant communities succeed with their tiny bodies and witness that there is absolutely no difference between their fossils, the oldest of which is about 80 million years old, and their counterparts living today, that run to approximately 8800 species.
As we explore the special world of ants, this perfect system will earn our admiration and increase the need for thinking and investigating. At the same time, we shall see the mistakes in the theory of evolution and witness Allah’s immaculate creation, which is a tremendously important work. In the Qur’an, the type of person who thinks about nature and thus recognizes the omnipotence of Allah is praised as a model for those who believe. The verses below explain this point fully:
In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the alternation of night and day, there are indeed signs for men of understanding: men who celebrate the praises of Allah, standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and contemplate the wonders of creation in the heavens and the earth, (saying): “Our Lord! You have not created all this in vain! Glory be to You! Give us salvation from the penalty of the Fire.”(Surat Al’Imran:190-191) We hope that this book causes its readers to think more deeply on and to feel admiration for the superior power and unequaled art of creation of Allah, Who has made all things.

The Well Traveled Quran( A Celebration of the Endurance of Kalam Allah)

£4.49

The Noble Qur’an is Kalam Allah (speech of Allah), the eternal message, preserved forever, for all of humanity. Allah’s Word was revealed, for the last time, to the final Messenger, Prophet Muhammad (S).Within two centuries of the founding of the Islamic state, Muslims had spread the message of Din al-Haq (religion of truth) east to the borders of China, and west to Spain and the shores of the Atlantic. The secret of Chinese paper making, first passed on to the Muslims in Baghdad, created an ‘information explosion’ that reverberated throughout Dar al-Islam (land of Islam). Inexpensive paper permitted the dissemination of Kalam Allah and, eventually, the transcription of hundreds of thousands of ahadith. The Islamic world soon developed a creative and literate culture of high civilization. This story chronicles the nine hundred year long odyssey of a beautiful handwritten Qur’an produced in Cordoba in the 11th century. The plight of the Moriscos (Arabic Al-Muriskiyyun), the last Muslims of Al-Andalus, becomes an integral part of the amazing story of the well-traveled Quran.
