the reality of bareilawi’ism :

The bareilawi cult originated in india during the time of the british Raj. They were heavily influenced by sufi’ism shi’ism and hindusim. The book examines their beliefs and rituals in depth. in particular they boast about their love for the prophet muhammed.This is not borne out by the facts .It is notunreasonable to state that bareilawi’ism is closer to shi’ism that ahlus sunnah by going beyond the limits laid down by Allahand His messenger and rebelliously partaking in innovations. Smoeof their deviant ideas include:

*Supplicating and seeking help from other than allah.

*The belief that other along with allah have knowledge of the Unseen.

*Issues regarding the humanity of the prophet.

* Exaggerated praise regarding the abilities of prophet and saints.

* Grave worship and their polytheistic beliefs regarding them.

*Seeking blessings from the figures,images.relics and talismans

*Excessive indulging in innovated practices opposing the early salaf

* Their customs of religious festivals and the death anniversaries

*Spreading supersitions and fairy tales

*Distorting the meaning of qu’anic verses and the sunnah

*Declaring muslim scholars, leades and politicians ‘kafir’
