هذه ترجمة شاملة للشيخ عبد الستار بن عبد
الوهاب الدهلوي المكي المتوفى سنة 1355،
شملت جميع جوانب حياته الاجتماعية والعلمية،
تتبع فيها المصنف مؤلفاته، وشـــــــيوخه دراية
ورواية، وتلامذته الـرواة عنه، وختم بباب عن
مكتبته ذكر فيه بتتبع منسوخاته وتملكاته، وأدرج
كل ما وقف عليه من وثائق، وصور إجازات شيوخه
له، وإجازاته لطلابه.
وأتبع الترجمة اعتناءه بثبته المسمى “نثر المآثر
في من أدركت من الأكابـر”، وهو من أوائل ما
صنف في الرواية، و”المورد الهني في أســـــــانيد
الشيخ عبد الغني”، وهو من أواخر ما صنف في
الرواية، وبذيله إجازته للشيخ أبي الحسن زيد
الفاروقي المتوفى ســـــنة 1414 المسماة “الفيض
والإسعاد”.
