يُعَدّ «مختصر الشيخ خليل» ، للشيخ « الامام ضياء الدين أبو المودة خليل بن إسحاق بن موسى بن شعيب المالكي المعروف بالجندي)تـ776 هـ( » ، من أشهر المختصرات الفقهية على مذهب السّادة المالكية، بل ربما كان أشهرها على الإطلاق في القرون المتأخرة، ويشهد لذلك عناية العلماء به وعكوف طلاب العلم على حفظه ودراسته، وتلقيهم له بالقبول .
وبالنظر في منهج الشيخ خليل الذي سلك في هذا المختصر نلاحظ أنه اقتصر على مشهور المذهب وما تكون به الفتوى من الأقوال، وترك بقيّتها ولم يُخرج من المسودة إلاَّ ثلثه الأول إلى النكاح، ومع ذلك أقام في تأليفه خمسا وعشرين سنة، ووُجد باقيه فجمعه أصحابه، وألّف بهرام باب المقاصّة منه، وأكمل الأقفهسي جملة يسيرة ترك لها بياضاً.
