The author explains the importance of verifying news and the different methods in doing so. He also reminds the readers of the great position and status of the Islamic scholars in the Ummah and the obligation of the general public towards them. From the causes of separation and differing is listening to liars and slanderers, and to the false rumours and propagation which the weak in faith, hypocrites and bias propagate from within, those who do not want us to be united upon a single faith and religion. This is why, it is compulsory upon us to verify narrations and to not make haste, as Allah has ordered us to verify narrations in that which is specific to the general people of the Islamic society, and has made the affairs of public safety, war and the general affairs return specifically to the leaders and scholars. This is a small booklet concerning the position of the people of the Sunnah with regards to receiving news and narrating.
