One striking feature in the series is the colourful artwork used in it will certainly appeal to children. This is certainly bound to attract the young readers’ attention, stimulate them, amuse them as well as educate them.
This series aims to acquaint the student with the teachings of Islam in every aspect: beliefs, practices and moral conduct. This series, with its unique features, certainly fills a gap in this area which has long been partially neglected.
The present breath-taking work was initiated by an expert in the field of education, Maulvi Abdul Aziz, MA. English literature, who held different posts in the field including that of Senior Administrative Officer in the Department of Private Education, Ministry of Education, Dubai, UAE, from 1982 to 2002.
The current project also owes its existence in its present form to a number of people who made informative suggestions, particularly Al-Arabee Ben Razzouq, College of Languages and Translation, Imam Muhammad ibn Saud University, Riyadh, who undertook the painstaking task of checking the authenticity of the material presented in the series, proofreading the text as well as adding references to certain quotations from the Qur’an and the hadeeth. Special thanks also go to Sheikh Abdul-Qawiy Luqman, Al-Madeenah University graduate, for his interesting suggestions and to Mr. Zulfiqar Mahmood who conscientiously applied his expertise in the field of graphic design to produce the series in a superb shape.

Nana Asma’u was a devout, learned Muslim who was able to observe, record, interpret, and influence the major public events that happened around her. Daughters are still named after her, her poems still move people profoundly, and the memory of her remains a vital source of inspiration and hope. Her example as an educator is still followed: the system she set up in the first quarter of the nineteenth century, for the education of rural women, has not only survived in its homeland—through the traumas of the colonization of West Africa and the establishment of the modern state of Nigeria—but is also being revived and adapted elsewhere, notably among Muslim women in the United States. This book, richly illustrated with maps and photographs, recounts Asma’u’s upbringing and critical junctures in her life from several sources, mostly unpublished: her own firsthand experiences presented in her writings, the accounts of contemporaries who witnessed her endeavors, and the memoirs of European travelers. وجاء الثاني مشتملا على ما أفرزته العقائد من أحكام وشرائع توجه سلوك أتباعها نحو (الآخر).
أما الثالث فقد تناول شواهد ونماذج تطبيقية توضح دور العقائد والشرائع في تعامل أتباعها مع (الآخر).
وتحقيقا لذلك جاءت محتويات هذه الدراسة على النحو الآتي:
المقدمة: وتضمنت الحديث عن مشكلة الدراسة، وأهميتها، وأهدافها، والدراسات السابقة، ومنهج البحث، وخطته.
الباب التمهيدي: وفيه أربعة فصول قمت من خلالها بتسليط الضوء على مفهوم (الآخر) وتاريخه، وتحديد مضامينه ودلالته في الأديان الثلاثة،
: ثم التعريف باليهودية والمسيحية والإسلام من حيث نشأتها، وعقائدها،
ومصادرها.
الباب الأول: ويمثل الجانب الفكري، وقد تناول موضوع العقائد في الأديان الثلاثة، مرتكزا على موضوع قيمة الإنسان عند كل منها، وأثرها في صياغة النظرة إلى (الآخر) من خلال المصادر والكتب المعتمدة.
الباب الثاني: ويتضمن ما حوته الأديان الثلاثة من شرائع وأحكام حددت علاقة أتباعها بـ (الآخر)، وقد اشتملت على الحقوق والحريات، والأملاك
والعلاقات الاجتماعية، وشريعة القتال.
الباب الثالث: ويُمَثَلُ الجانب العملي والتطبيقي؛ حيث تناول شواهد ونماذج من واقع تاريخ الأديان الثلاثة تُظهر أثر عقائدها في سلوك الأتباع نحو
(الآخر).
وقد خلصت الدراسة إلى أن العقائد تُعد الأساس الذي تُبنى عليه النظرة
إلى (الآخر)، وأن قبول (الآخر) والاعتراف به متوقف على صحتها وموقفها من
الإنسان بشكل عام، وأن مسألة رفض (الآخر) وإقصائه تعود إلى فساد العقيدة
واضطراب نظرتها إلى الإنسان بشكل عام.
وأسأل الله العلي القدير أن يكون هذا الجهد خالصا لوجهه الكريم، وأن يكون قد حقق هدفه ومقصوده، وأن ينفع به أمة الإسلام والمسلمين.
