He spent 16 years in this research and examined more than sixty thousand Sayings. Out of this, he selected about 7275 Sayings whose authenticity and accuracy was established beyond the slightest of doubt. After removing duplicates, the Imams collection contains about 4000 distinct Sayings.
The text used for this Summary is based on Imam Zayn al-Din Ahmad ibn Ahmad al-Sharji al-Zubaydi (d. 893) the author of the abridged Sahih al-Bukhari [al-Tajrid al-Sarih].
